Appeals

Overview

Effective September 6, 2026

Depending on the type of infringement, users might be able to appeal the decision and possibly get reinstated the removed content or account. One person runs Goodbye App and reads every appeal. Here’s how you can appeal a content removal:

Appealing Removed Content on Goodbye App

Notification of Removed Content: When your content is removed, you will receive an email and an in-app notification informing you of the removal. The reason for the removal might be due to a copyright or trademark violation, impersonation, unlawful conduct, harassment, etc.

Accessing the Appeal ProcessClick on the specific infringement notification in your user notifications panel. This will redirect you to the the removed content, where you can delete the infringing data (comment, post or account) or appeal the decision if granted.

You can view or find removed content by:

Email Notification

  1. Sign in to your email account.
  2. Click on the infringement email.
  3. Click appeal button if present.

Filtering Notifications

  1. Open Goodbye App, authenticate and go to the notification panel.
  2. Use the filter options to select "Infringement" to see only the notifications related to content removals.
  3. Click on any infringement notification to start the appeal process (if granted).

Those are the two places a removal shows up. If you cannot find either, write to us from the contact page and say what was removed.

Submitting an Appeal: On the appeal page, you will find a form to provide additional information or context that supports your appeal. You can explain why you believe the content should not have been removed and provide any relevant evidence or documentation. Then, submit the appeal form for further review.

Appeal Review Process: Once your appeal is submitted, the person who runs Goodbye App reads it and decides whether the content can be restored. There is no second reviewer above that decision.

Outcome of Appeal: If your appeal is successful, the removed content is restored, and you are told by email and by an in-app notification.

If your appeal is denied, you are told by email, and the email says why.

Not every content removal decision can be appealed. Here is why:

  • Sexual content involving a child. Removed and the account closed, with no appeal. There is no set of facts that changes this one.
  • Content removed to comply with the law. A court order or a valid legal demand is not something an appeal to us can undo. Where the law gives you a way to contest it, that way is against the party who obtained it, not against us.
  • Phishing links and malware. Removed on sight when reported, with no appeal.
  • Accounts already suspended for repeat violations. The suspension itself can be appealed. The individual removals that led to it cannot be reopened one by one after the fact.

Everything else can be appealed. If you are not sure which of these your removal falls under, the notification says which policy it was removed under, and you can appeal and ask.

Every appeal is read by the same person, against the policy the removal was made under and the information you put in the form.

The policies themselves are published in full, so you can read the rule your content was measured against before you write your appeal. If you think a rule is wrong or unclear, say so in the appeal, or write to us. That is how these pages get corrected.

Support Contact: If you need further assistance or have questions about the appeal process, write to us from the contact page. The same person reads that too.
