Five checks, made by this browser against the real services, when you open this page and once a minute while it is in front of you. The readings are yours: the times above are not stored, not sent to us, and are gone when you close the page.

Checked on our side

These run on our own servers rather than in your browser, so we watch them from our end instead. Each row says when we last confirmed it.

What we are working on

  • Reading the site in your own language

Italian and Vietnamese are live, which brings the site to thirteen languages. Each one covers the pages, the blog and the app itself, not just the menus.

    Since 24 August 2026

  • Making the first page load faster

Each page now downloads only its own code instead of the whole app. Work continues on the parts that still arrive too early, particularly on slow connections.

    Since 12 August 2026

  • Being findable in search

Every page has its own address per language, and the blog now carries full text for search engines that do not run JavaScript. Most of what remains is waiting to be crawled.

    Since 28 August 2026

Record of incidents

Everything that went wrong and was noticed, newest first, including the ones nobody reported.

  1. 20 August 2026 to 2 September 2026Resolved

The contact and report forms rejected everything sent to them

Affected: The contact form, Report a problem

    1. Fixed2 September 2026, 12:00 UTC

The spam check on our side was asking for a piece of information the form was never able to provide, so it turned away every submission, including real ones. The check now matches what the form actually sends. Anything sent while this was broken did not reach us. If you wrote to us between 20 August and 2 September, please send it again.

    2. Found2 September 2026, 09:30 UTC

Both forms returned an error immediately on submit. Nothing was being queued or retried behind the scenes.

  2. 20 August 2026 to 2 September 2026Resolved

Password reset and verification emails were not arriving

    Affected: Email we send you

    1. Fixed2 September 2026, 12:00 UTC

Reset and verification emails are being delivered again. If you asked for a reset while this was broken and never received it, ask again and the new link will arrive.

    2. Found2 September 2026, 10:00 UTC

The request was accepted and the page said the email had been sent, but nothing was handed to the mail service. There was no error for anyone to see, which is why it went unnoticed for so long.

  3. 1 September 2026Resolved

Every page except the home page showed "page not found"

    Affected: The website

    1. Fixed1 September 2026

A release was published while it was still being built, so the file that serves every address other than the home page was missing. Publishing now refuses to start unless the build is complete, so this particular failure cannot repeat.

This page is served from the same website it reports on. If goodbyeapp.com is completely down you will not be able to reach it, so we post there too: @goodbyeapp.
