Repeat Infringer Policy

Goodbye App takes copyright infringement seriously. This policy sets out what happens when the same account is the subject of repeated copyright complaints.

Nothing here scans what you post for copyrighted material. There is no matching system and no automated check. A complaint from the rights holder is how this starts, one person runs Goodbye App and reads every one, and we review them within 24 hours of receiving them.

Notice of Copyright Infringement:

  • When we receive a valid copyright complaint regarding content posted by a user, we will notify the user and remove the infringing material as per the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) regulations.

Repeat Infringement:

  • If an account is the subject of multiple valid copyright complaints, or the complaints show a pattern of repeat infringement, we will take the following actions:
    1. Account Suspension: We may suspend the account in accordance with our Repeat Infringer Policy. A suspended account cannot post, which is how further infringement stops.
    2. Review Process: Users who are suspended under this policy may have the option to file a suspension appeal. One person runs Goodbye App and reads the appeal, taking into account any valid retractions or counter-notices submitted by the user.

Appeals:

  • Users who believe their account was suspended in error or have resolved the copyright issues leading to the suspension may submit an appeal. The same person reads every appeal and decides it on the information you provide. You are told the outcome by email.

Education and Compliance:

  • Read our copyright policy and our fair use page before you post work that is not yours. Most of the complaints that reach us are about material somebody did not know they could not post.

Final Decision:

  • Our platform reserves the right to make the final decision regarding account suspensions based on our Repeat Infringer Policy and relevant legal requirements.

Who can report violations user violations?

Any user with a Goodbye App account has the ability to report potential violations of this policy.

You can report content for review in-app and desktop as follows:

  1. Select Report Account from the icon:
  2. Select a reason.
  3. Submit your report.

Post work that is yours, or that you have the right to post, and none of this will apply to you.
