Accounts belonging to people who carried out a terrorist act, an act of violent extremism or a mass violent attack are not permitted here, and neither is the material those people made about what they did.
We do not screen anything before it is posted, so a report is how this reaches us, one person runs Goodbye App and reads every report, and we review reports within 24 hours of receiving them.
Accounts of Perpetrators: An account operated by, or on behalf of, a person who carried out a terrorist act, an act of violent extremism or a mass violent attack is removed.
Their Material: Posting the manifesto, the statement, the footage or any other material produced by a perpetrator of a violent attack is not permitted, whole or in extract. This rule turns on what the post contains and not on why it was posted. Reading a report we can see the material, and we cannot see the reason it was shared, so a rule that turned on the reason is one we could not apply evenly to two people who posted the same thing. If it matters to what you are writing, describe it in your own words instead.
Coming Back Under a New Name: If an account removed under this policy returns under a new name and someone reports it, it is removed again. We should say plainly that nothing here notices that on its own. There is no system that recognises a returning account, matches faces or names, or watches for it. A report is the only way it reaches us.
Law Enforcement: We answer lawful requests from law enforcement, and we may contact them ourselves where a report puts a threat to someone's life in front of us.
Your own account of a violent attack is yours to tell. If you were there, if you were hurt, if you lost someone, or if you are still living with what it did to you, you may write about it here, at whatever length you need, to the people you are writing to. You may name the person who did it. You may say what they did, and quote what they said. You may say what you think of them. None of that is what this page is about. This page is about the perpetrator's own account and the perpetrator's own material. It has never applied to yours, and it does not apply to it now.
The same is true of writing about a war you lived through, an attack you witnessed, or a death in your family that came out of one. Reporting, history, teaching and argument about violent attacks are allowed on the same terms. What none of them may carry is the perpetrator's own material, which is the one part with no exception.
Any user with a Goodbye App account has the ability to report potential violations of this policy.

Content in breach of this policy is removed, and the account that posted it is suspended. An account covered by the first rule above is removed outright. Every one of those decisions is made by a person reading the report and the account, not by an automated system.
