Child Safety Standards Policy

Overview

Effective September 6, 2026

Goodbye App is a service for adults, and nobody under 18 is permitted to hold an account here. That does not settle the question of child safety, because content that harms a minor can be posted by an adult. This policy sets out what is forbidden, how to report it, and what happens when a report reaches us.

Age Restrictions

  • Goodbye App is designed for users aged 18 and older. Users under 18 are not permitted to create accounts or use the platform.
  • During registration we require every account holder to confirm that they are 18 or older. We began keeping a record of that confirmation on 24 August 2026. Signing up has always required it, and the form will not submit without it, but for accounts created before that date we did not write the confirmation down, so we hold no record of it for those accounts. Our Privacy Policy sets out what that record contains.

Content Moderation

We would rather be exact about this than reassuring about it, because a promise we cannot keep would be worse than no promise at all.

  • Content that promotes, depicts, or glorifies violence, abuse, exploitation, or any form of harm to minors is prohibited here. There is no exception to that rule, and no context, artistic, journalistic, scientific, educational, documentary or family, in which such content is permitted on this platform.
  • An image or video of a nude or partially nude child is not permitted here on the same terms. There is no context, artistic, journalistic, scientific, educational, documentary or family, in which such an image is permitted, and no exception for one shared with good intentions. That holds where the child in the picture is you, and where an allowance for an adult's own body would otherwise cover the adult in the same picture. If that part belongs in what you are writing, write it in words.
  • We do not screen content before it is posted. We do not use automated systems to detect it, and we do not read through the accounts of people nobody has reported. We rely on the people who use this service to tell us when something is wrong, which means a report is the thing that reaches us.
  • The report form offers a fixed list of reasons, and none of them names a minor. If what you are reporting involves one, choose the reason that comes closest, usually "Nudity or sexual behavior", "Violence or dangerous organizations" or "Offensive words or symbols", and use the description box to say that a minor is involved. Every report reaches a person, and we review reports within 24 hours of receiving them. Reports are not sorted by subject, so what you write in that box is what tells us. They are decided in that review rather than passed along. Content we find to be in breach is removed, and the account is suspended or permanently banned.

Reporting and Enforcement

  • Anyone with an account can report a post, a comment or an account from the menu on it. Reports are not anonymous: we can see which account made one, so that we can follow it up and so that the reporting tools cannot themselves be used to harass. The person you report is not told who reported them.
  • If you would rather write to us directly, or you do not have an account, use the contact form and choose the support desk, or write to contact@goodbyeapp.com. Say that it concerns a minor and it will be handled under this policy. A message sent that way reaches the same person, but it does not raise the alert that a report filed in the app raises, so it can take longer than 24 hours. If you have an account, report it in the app as well.
  • Accounts found violating child safety policies will be suspended or permanently banned, and, when required, reported to the appropriate legal authorities.
  • Every report reaches a person, and that person decides it. We do not use an outside moderation vendor, and nothing you report is decided by an automated system.

Privacy and Data Protection

  • Nobody under 18 may hold an account here, and we do not knowingly collect, store, or process personal information from anyone under 18. An account we learn belongs to someone under 18 is closed and its data deleted.
  • We do not sell personal information, and nothing you write here is used to target advertising at you.
  • Our Privacy Policy sets out what we hold, how long we hold it, who can reach it, how to ask for a copy of it or to have it deleted, and what rights you have over it. This page does not summarize that, because a summary here would be one more thing that could drift out of date without anyone noticing.

Where the rules are written down

  • This is not a service for children, so we do not publish safety material aimed at them. What we do publish is the rules themselves, in full, on our policies page.
  • The rules that bear on this policy most directly are our Community Guidelines, our Sexual Exploitation policy and our Sensitive Content policy. All three are linked from that page.

Third-Party Integrations and Advertising

  • Any third-party services integrated with Goodbye App must adhere to our child safety standards.

Regular Policy Reviews

  • We review this policy when the law changes, when the product changes, and when someone tells us it is wrong or unclear. The date at the top of this page is the day it last changed.
  • If you think something here is wrong, write to us at the address below and say so. That is how this page gets better.

If you have questions, concerns, or suggestions regarding this policy, please contact us at: contact@goodbyeapp.com

Anything you send to that address about a minor is treated as a report under this policy and read by the person who decides reports. The 24 hour window above is for reports filed in the app, which raise an alert within minutes. Mail does not, so if you have an account, file the report in the app as well.
